The civilization runs in seasons: a published objective, a set of expeditions, a closing ledger. Seasonal standing resets. Legacy standing does not.
A world that keeps time by what changed
Seasons give the civilization a shared objective and a closing ledger. Eras are longer and are declared only when a structural capability of the world changes — an era is a fact, not a campaign.
Circles, guilds and assemblies are the bodies that hold work, competence and authority.
Five structures of collective life
Nobody builds a civilization alone, and nobody should be governed by strangers with no standing in the thing they are governing.
World eras
Eras are longer than seasons and are declared, not scheduled. An era ends when a structural capability of the civilization changes — an era is a fact about the world, not a marketing calendar.
Circles
Small, self-selected crews. The unit most work actually happens in. Circles hold their own standing and their own record.
Guilds
Discipline bodies that certify competence in a path, run trials and hold verification standards. Membership is earned through trial, not application.
Assemblies
Territory-scale bodies that hold governance authority for one layer of the civilization. Seats are held by governance standing alone.
Resets are for competition, not for people
A season can wipe a leaderboard. It cannot wipe what you actually built, and it cannot wipe who you are.

- Legacy, identity, verified proofs, attributed works, institutions founded, the historical record.
Era zero has not closed
The civilization is in the period before its first citizen. There is no season running, and nothing has yet happened that an era could be named after.
Era one opens when the founding register issues its first identity. The first season opens when undertakings do. Both dates are published on the roadmap, and both will move if the work moves — which is the entire reason the roadmap is public.
