Building the operating system of a digital civilization

Rebirth begins with identity, contribution and economic participation, and expands into a persistent network of people, organizations, intelligence, markets and institutions.

Everything on this page carries a state. Nothing that is not built is written as though it is.

01THESIS

The thesis

Digital life is fragmented across systems that were never designed to be one life. The value of connecting them does not accrue to any single application — it accrues to whoever holds the identity and the economic layer beneath all of them. Rebirth is building that layer, starting with the narrowest usable version of it.

  • Identity is the wedge, because everything else attaches to it.
  • Contribution is the first transaction, because it creates supply before demand.
  • The economy is the compounding mechanism, because it makes staying rational.
  • The persistent world is the endgame surface, not the starting product.
02THE WEDGE

The wedge

The Founding World: identity, contribution, progression and economic participation. Small enough to ship, and structurally the same object as the civilization it grows into.

01

People act

Learn, build, work, contribute, transact. Verified activity creates the first real graph.

02

Organizations arise

Companies, communities, institutions and developer collectives form on top of the citizen graph.

03

Economic rails

Payments, marketplace, REB, ownership and settlement become native rather than bolted on.

04

The world becomes persistent

The interface stops being a set of pages and becomes an inhabitable place.

05

Control points

Intelligence, compute, identity, search, developer infrastructure, world engine — and eventually hardware.

03WHY NOW

Why now

01

Intelligence can hold context

Machine capability can now operate over persistent personal and organizational state rather than one prompt at a time.

02

Ownership rails exist independently

Economic settlement and digital ownership no longer have to live inside a single application's database.

03

Life is already digital

Hundreds of millions already carry identity, work, relationships and culture online — through platforms that connect none of it.

04MARKET

Market

There is no clean 'digital civilization' TAM, and claiming one would be dishonest. Rebirth sits at the intersection of several enormous markets and enters through one wedge, expanding across a shared identity and economic graph.

  • Intelligence assistants and agents
  • Professional networks
  • Creator economy
  • Education and credentialing
  • Work marketplaces
  • Developer platforms
  • Community infrastructure
  • Payments and digital settlement
  • Persistent worlds and games
  • Digital identity
  • Organizational software
05BUSINESS MODEL

Business model

The company does not depend on token appreciation. The revenue stack is conventional, and it arrives in the order the product does.

  • Marketplace take rateWITH UNDERTAKINGS AND CITIZEN SERVICES
  • Payments and settlementWITH THE ECONOMY
  • Intelligence and computeWITH THE INTELLIGENCE LAYER
  • SubscriptionsWITH CITIZEN AND ORGANIZATION TIERS
  • Developer infrastructureWITH THE BUILD SURFACES
  • Organization softwareWITH ENTERPRISES
  • Creator toolsWITH THE CREATOR STUDIO
  • World transactionsWITH THE PERSISTENT WORLD
  • EducationWITH ACADEMIES
  • Digital goods and licensingWITH CULTURE AND ARTEFACTS
  • Infrastructure and hardwareLATER ERA, STATED AS INTENT
06GROWTH

Five loops, one graph

Growth is not a channel here. It is the structure of the thing: each loop feeds the graph the next loop runs on.

01

Contribution loop

More citizens produce more verified work; more work produces more things worth having.

02

Economic loop

More earnings produce more spending; more spending funds more contribution.

03

Organization loop

More organizations create more opportunities, which attract more citizens.

04

Builder loop

More surfaces attract more builders, whose work becomes the civilization others use.

05

Record loop

The longer a citizen participates, the more of their proven history lives here.

07DEFENSIBILITY

The state accumulates, and the state is the moat

Interfaces are copied in a quarter. A civilization's accumulated state is not.

01

Identity graph

A portable economic identity carrying learning, work, creations, reputation, relationships and contribution — not another login.

02

Civilization graph

People, organizations, projects, opportunities, knowledge, assets and institutions as objects in one graph. Far harder to clone than an interface.

03

Intelligence context

Machine capability operating over the persistent context of a person and their organizations, with stated provenance.

04

Economic network effects

More people, more work, more earnings, more commerce, more creators, more reasons to remain.

05

Developer flywheel

Rebirth should not be something only Rebirth can create. What others build inside it becomes part of it.

06

World persistence

The same economic and institutional objects eventually become explorable places. State accumulated over years cannot be reproduced by launching a competitor.

08EXPANSION

A staircase, not a leap

Each step is only attempted because the one beneath it is standing.

  1. 01Founding WorldIdentity, contribution, standing, wallet.
  2. 02EconomyREB, settlement, marketplace, treasury.
  3. 03OrganizationsEnterprises, treasuries, contracts, membership.
  4. 04Developer civilizationSurfaces, intelligence, integrations, open construction.
  5. 05Persistent worldRebirth Online — the inhabitable surface.
  6. 06Sovereign infrastructureCompute, storage, identity issuance, native chain.
  7. 07Physical extensionPremises, settlements, goods. The furthest and least certain edge.
09FOUNDER

Pseudonymous, and disclosed anyway

The founder operates under a pseudonym and says so, rather than manufacturing a face. What that costs in familiarity is repaid in disclosure.

  • CAPITAL COMMITTEDNOT DISCLOSED
  • FOUNDER ALLOCATIONPublished on the REB page
  • VESTINGPublished before any token exists
  • DECISION RIGHTSEnumerated in the constitution
  • CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITSThe powers the founder cannot exercise are written down
10THE ASK

We are building the founding layer

Raise terms are not published yet. When they are, they will appear here and in the deck at the same time, with the milestones the round unlocks.
