REBIRTH ONLINE / 06.0000

The first world whose history is written by the people inside it

Rebirth Online is the inhabitable surface of the civilization: a persistent world where millions explore, fight, build, trade, govern, betray, found institutions and periodically compete to reshape the world itself. Not a game attached to a project — the place the project is for.

Nothing here is built. This is the destination, written down before it exists.

01THE FANTASY

Not the strongest character

Every large world so far has sold the same promise. We are selling a different one.

THE OLD FANTASY

Become the strongest character.

OURS

Become somebody in a living civilization.

02THE ARGUMENT

Three claims, and everything else follows from them

  1. 01

Player power has consequences. Someone takes a throne and taxation changes. A guild takes territory and everyone else must react. Someone finds a relic and the political balance moves.

  2. 02

The world is not scripted. It is a set of circumstances from which stories emerge, recorded permanently, and remembered by the world long after the people who made them have stopped playing.

  3. 03

One screen holds three games. Zoom into a character and it is an action RPG. Zoom out and it is an MMO strategy game. Zoom out again and it is a civilization simulator.

03THE REFUSALS

What this will never be

Worlds this large usually fail in the same six ways. These are the ones we are refusing in advance.

  • 01No economy funded by the losses of other players. Value is produced, not extracted.
  • 02No pay-to-win. Money buys goods and ground, never standing, competence or office.
  • 03No seasonal wipe that makes what you did meaningless.
  • 04No blockchain in your face. You own an artifact; you never think about a token.
  • 05No single winner who can ruin the world for everyone else. Power is scoped, always.
  • 06No requirement to touch cryptocurrency to enjoy the world.
04THE LOOP

Explore, and eventually become history

Eleven movements. The last one is the name of the whole project.

  1. Explore
  2. Discover
  3. Acquire
  4. Build
  5. Trade
  6. Organize
  7. Compete
  8. Govern
  9. Change the world
  10. Become history
  11. Rebirth
05THE MAP

Eleven parts of one world

Each one stated in full, with its present state attached — which, today, is almost always nothing.

The world06.0100

A surface to live on, and a frontier beneath it

Civilization above. An enormous, simulation-driven Labyrinth below, five depths deep, changing in response to what the people inside it do.

HORIZON
Civilization06.0200

Cities founded by players, governed by players

From a single room to a nation with provinces, ports and fortifications — and the eighteen kinds of person you can become inside one.

HORIZON
Conflict06.0300

Three scales of war, three kinds of prestige

Personal combat, tactical engagements and civilization-scale warfare. A great duellist is not automatically a great general, and the world should say so.

HORIZON
The throne06.0400

Power that reaches the world, and stops there

Player, guild, city, region, nation, world throne. Every great cycle the Crown War decides who ascends — and the constitution decides what ascending is allowed to mean.

HORIZON
The ages06.0500

Six ages, and no reset

Awakening, Descent, Empires, The Crown, Collapse, Rebirth. Territory changes and power changes. History does not.

HORIZON
World forces06.0600

The world's physics answer to its inhabitants

Seven forces whose strength moves with what civilization actually does — and six philosophies nations are composed from rather than locked into.

HORIZON
Artifacts06.0700

One sword, one place, one history

If a legendary object exists, it exists somewhere. Someone carries it. Someone can hide it, steal it, or put it in a museum — and every hand it passed through is on the record.

HORIZON
Memory06.0800

The Hall of Ages

Walk past a statue in year fourteen that exists because of something a player did in year two. A world with memory is the only kind worth inheriting.

HORIZON
Economy06.0900

A productive economy, not a casino

Miners make ore, smiths make swords, architects make cities. Two currencies: credits for daily life, REB for the civilization layer above it.

HORIZON
Creation06.1000

Tools approaching the ones we use ourselves

Architecture, clothing, books, laws, businesses, festivals, schools, museums, whole games. The most successful player-made things become famous inside the world.

HORIZON
Immersion06.1100

The screen is the first form, not the last

Flat-screen first, because it must be great there. Then presence: full-body, spatial, eventually indistinguishable from being somewhere. Stated as destination, dated as intent.

06THE PROGRAMME

What a world of this size actually costs

Published as a shape rather than a claim. No part of it is funded today.

  • Core technology and content$0.8B–1.5B
  • World and content production$0.5B–1.0B
  • Networking, cloud and backend$0.3B–0.7B
  • AI and simulation$0.3B–0.7B
  • Global launch and community$0.5B–1.0B
  • Multi-year live operations$0.5B+

A lifetime budget of this size does not buy one enormous version 1.0. It buys Rebirth Online 1.0, and then ten to twenty years of civilization development after it — which is the only shape in which any of this makes sense.
